Implementation Department Ⅲ of Foreign Aid Training     March 20, 2026

On March 17th, 2026, the Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO) of the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China successfully held the joint closing ceremony for four seminars in Beijing, including “Seminar on Promoting Rural Revitalization through E-commerce for Developing Countries”, “Seminar on Implementation of 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development for Developing Countries - Women and Children”, “Seminar on Cross-Border E-commerce for Developing Countries” and “Seminar for Developing Countries on Implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development - Clean Energy”. Vice President Chen Runyun attended the ceremony and delivered a speech to the 118 participants from developing countries including Colombia, Kenya, the Philippines, Tanzania, as well as the African Union.

Vice President Chen Runyun warmly congratulated all participants on the successful completion of their respective seminars. He emphasized that the conclusion of the seminars was not an end, but a new starting point for jointly planning the future and pursuing development hand in hand. The successful holding of these seminars has not only deepened practical cooperation between China and other developing countries in such fields as the digital economy, livelihood security and green energy, but also contributed positively to building a community with a shared future for mankind and implementing the Global Development Initiative.

Representatives from Kenya, Colombia and Uganda took turns to speak at the ceremony. They expressed gratitude to the academy for its thoughtful organization and meticulous arrangements, and reviewed their experience in China. They all agreed that the seminars were more than an ordinary course; they were a valuable journey of learning, exploration, exchange and inspiration. During the seminars, participants not only learned advanced experience from China in relevant fields, but also gained three precious "gifts": knowledge to boost economic and trade exchanges among countries, friendship connecting different cultures, and a vision for cooperation toward a shared future.

During the closing ceremony, the African participants sang and danced as they draped the traditional African garment "Shuka" over Vice President Chen Runyun. Through this simple yet sincere act, they expressed their profound friendship and deep gratitude to the Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO), as well as to the government and people of China.
